Our mission is to go beyond the mere
preservation of historic documents and artifacts. The Colonel
Crowther Foundation will be an organization that creates a
living heritage environment where preservation is enhanced by
demonstration and education. The people, places, and events that
make-up our central Pennsylvania heritage are the subject matter
of our work. Our focus will be on the American Civil War era
while acknowledging the many important aspects of early American
history that identify the contributions made by the first
settlers of the region. We believe our heritage is the
foundation of our future. Our efforts will focus on documenting,
communicating, and interpreting past events knowing that
understanding what happened yesterday helps us to prepare for
tomorrow.
